Product Description
The ‘Existence’ sculpture is presented with the figure’s head slightly bent down looking at its own shadow. The sculpture reveals an identity and a type of self-communication.
The artist creates a metaphor to explain Yin and Yang (Taiji) through his sculptures. Huang Yu Long believes we are experiencing Taiji in many aspects. Up and down, good and evil or strong and weak, that demonstrates everything has a light and dark side. Where there is shadow, there must be light. It explores the duality of everything, just like Taiji, which keeps nature in check and balance.
“I poured all my personal emotions into this sweater-wearing character. In order not to affect the temperament with more information, I subtracted the character’s face and completed the character with a jumpsuit and hoodie. Because of the characters I create, I use their actions and gestures to suggest a particular state and a power expressed by the characters themselves.” ~ Huang Yulong
