Chiang Shih Wen 江石文

Chiang Shih Wen was born in 1949 in Malacca. He received a degree in Fine Art from the KL Collage of Art in 1974. Context in Chiang’s painting is based on Malacca cityscape; however, he features colors and airy of landscapes in his paintings instead of realism landscapes. Before he starts a painting, he goes outdoor to draw some sketches and completes a painting at his studio. Chiang Shih Wen’s paintings are characterised by rigorous structures that form colors, shapes, composition and scale. His paintings create diverse views to observe a historical and a tourist city that bring viewers’ attention back to the basic to appreciate peace and pleasure with ordinary life in Malaysia.

Chiang Shih Wen received Fine Art Degree from the KL College of Art in 1974. He was awarded In Outstanding Award: “Young Artist Competition” in 1981 organized by “Nanyang Siang Pau”, “Malaysia Landscape in Water Colour” in 1982, organized by The National Art Gallery.

江石文1949年出生于马来西亚马六甲。江石文的作品以马六甲城市风景为基础，但他在画作中更注重色彩和景观的空气感，而不是写实的风景。在开始一幅画之前，他会到 户外素描几幅草图，然后在工作室完成一幅画作。他的画作以严谨的结构为特征，形成了色彩、形状、构图和比例。他的画作创造了多样的视角，观察历史和旅游城市，吸引观众的注意，使他们回归到欣赏马来西亚平凡生活中的和平与快乐。江石文1974年毕业于吉隆坡艺术学院美术系。 1981年由「南洋商报」所举办的「青年艺术家比赛」荣获优等奖，以及 1982年国家美术馆举办的”水彩中的马来西亚风景 “获得优等奖。
