Saluting with folded hands is a traditional Han Chinese etiquette originated over three millennia ago in the pre-Zhou China. The east-meets-west connotations are further consolidated by another symbol of Hip-Hop culture – the hoodie. This piece has the honour of being named by veteran actor and artist Lau Siu Ming as “Ru” in Chinese (meaning “as such” in English, whose semiotic signifier “如” is composed of the Chinese characters of the “woman” (“女”) and the “mouth” (“口”) with the graphic resemblance of the open palm and closed fist respectively. The literal meaning of the “Ru” character, on the other hand, recalls the Buddhist teaching of [sutra] comes in this way, goes in this way”. Party 2 is a golden glazed porcelain sculpture heated to the temperature 1200℃ permanently set the colour against oxidization or discoloration.
抱拳礼，是汉族传统礼仪中一种相见礼，源于周代以前，已有三千以上的历史。穿上了Hip Hop服饰文化的[卫衣]，把东西文化结合在一起而擦出火花。这作品也荣幸地被著名演艺界前辈刘兆铭老师命名，他看了抱拳手势，而特别为这作品赐名[[是]一字，一掌若[女]，一掌若[口]。意喻[如是来，如是去]。金釉，再经过摄氏1200度高温烧制后，金釉便不会脱色或氧化。
