ZHI MIN  郅敏

Zhi Min has been using porcelain to create art for over 27 years since 1993. Throughout his years of creation, he learned about how Chinese ceramics are fired while developing his own views on materials as he grows internally and gains experiences. The artist believes that art is a movement connecting human and the world, as to sculptures are exploration to the universe’s vibrations and energies.

Zhi Min was born in 1975. He graduated from the Sculpture Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts with a master in literature. He is currently a second-level artist of China Academy of Art and China Sculpture Academy, member of UNESCO International Institute of Folk Art (IOV) and member of Chinese Artists Association. He was selected by the Chinese Artists Association to study sculptures in France by the Chinese Young Artists Overseas Training Project from 2011 to 2012. Besides, he also studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in the United States from 2006 to 2007.

从1993年起,艺术家运用陶瓷材料进行艺术创作已有27年。期间,他尽力体验中国陶瓷的烧制方式,并且随着自身成长和阅历增添,逐渐产生自己的材料观。对艺术家而言,艺术是人类参与讨论世界的一场行动;而雕塑是人类参与探讨世界的一团物质或能量。

郅敏出生于1975年;2007年于中央美术学院雕塑系获文学硕士学位。现为中国艺术研究院及中国雕塑院二级美术师,联合国教科文民间艺术国际机构(IOV)成员及中国美术家协会会员。他曾于2011至2012年入选中国美术家协会“中国中青年美术家海外研修工程”赴法国研究雕塑。另外,他也与2006至2007年赴美国罗德岛设计学院(RISD)学习。
