Gonzalo García Gaitán (Bogotá, 1981) is a Colombian visual artist whose practice examines the technocultural landscape:
the ways screens, obsolete devices, and media archives shape perception, memory, and identity. Working across
hyperrealist watercolor, drawing, printmaking, animation, and installation, he transforms CRT televisions, sewing machines,
insects, and fragments of popular culture into images and mechanical environments that connect surveillance, nostalgia,
domestic life, and collective memory. His recent bodies of work include Panopticopías, Hilo Vano, Insectopías, Mordiendo
Polvo, and Imagen Residual. In 2026, he presented Hilo Vano at Museo de Arte del Tolima and Casa Alfonso López
Pumarejo and participated in the Bienal de Curitiba. His work has been exhibited internationally across the Americas,
Europe, and Asia.
