FENG YI CHEN

1986 | China

Feng Yi Chen’s oil painting gives us an intuitional sight into the Chinese literal painting. He features still life but he does not specifically focus on the objects’ outlines and details. That is how he delivers his statement of art. In his paintings, cliffs and rocks are drifting as light as textiles; nevertheless, textiles seem to be portrayed as fog and fog grows to shape a goldfish. “Pictures as Poems; Poems as portrayed in Pictures”. The artist attempts to reach a maximum freedom of expression beyond the appearance of an object.

Feng Yi Chen was born in Tianjin, China in 1986. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 2010 and is currently residing in Beijing.
