Wu Er Dashu (real name: Li Chuanwei) is the director of Wu Er Art Space Museum in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. He is an oil painter, sculptor, and curator.
As an artist with international experience, he resides in both Suzhou and Mauritius and serves as the Cultural Exchange Ambassador for Sino-Mauritian Friendship. A diving enthusiast, his works have been collected by institutions and individuals in Mauritius, the United States, Singapore, and South Korea, among other countries.
Wu Er Dashu’s work blends the free spirit of Abstract Expressionism with the raw power of primitive art. Using bold strokes and fragmented lines, he constructs a visual language that lies between abstraction and figuration. His pieces capture the primal essence of traditional murals while embodying the improvisation and freedom of contemporary art. The scraping marks of his palette knife, ambiguous shapes, and fractured compositions create a space rich in imaginative possibilities. These elements invite viewers to experience the artist’s self-expression and exploration of his spiritual world, balancing ambiguity and precision.
